In looking for Joyce Valenza's powerpoint article (I'll have to sub it, I guess) I found her neverending search blog and a site called classroom 2.0 (I'm sensing a bit of a theme here!). Take a look:

Sensory Overload! Looking at all the topics on these two sites is kind of like walking through those outlet malls in Marysville...do I go to Ralph Lauren first or Chico's...and while I'm at it should I grab some of that fugde sold by the starving actress? haha! What jumps out at me is how proactive these librarians are. For example, the concern about have POAC on line is very preventive. The librarian is concerned that if anyone can access a school library's catalog that books will be challenged more often which could result in having to go through that process more often than not. Good question! Great links Teresa!
From Joyce Valenza's edublog I found a link to an AASL article titled "Disponsible Librarian". This fits along great with our readings about what today's librarians "look like". I love the cartoon depicting the "Yeah, but..." mentality of some of our colleages resisting the integration of technology into curriculum and into libraries. Technology does not make librarians disponsible, it makes them more valuable as travel agents in the world wide web.
If it was the "Dispensable Librarian" then that's most likely a take-off on the "Indispensable Librarian," a very well known book: http://www.amazon.com/Indispensable-Librarian-Surviving-Thriving-Information/dp/0938865641
